From the very first glance, the visual identity of Jožekova hiža speaks of a house that is more than just that — a place where a holiday becomes a story. This authentic holiday home, nestled among the hills of Marija Bistrica, isn't just a place to stay — it invites families to create memories, connect with each other, and experience something that joins past and present, the warmth of home and modern comfort.
The project wasn't just about designing a logo or a color palette. My job was to shape an identity that tells a story of heritage while still feeling contemporary and professional, across all of the brand's touchpoints — from the web and printed materials to communication on social media.
Everything in a single glance. The house, the nature, the hill.
The logo was carefully constructed to unite the key elements of the story. The inspiration is the 100-year-old house itself, with its small roof window, perched on top of a hill with a beautiful view over the Marija Bistrica countryside. The shape of the traditional house, the distinctive window, and the rolling landscape are merged into one compact, memorable mark. That's how we captured the atmosphere of a place that nurtures tradition but lives in the present (read: a sauna and a pool in the same house as a century-old sewing machine).
The color palette was designed to communicate warmth, a homely atmosphere, and history, while ensuring visual clarity and consistency across digital and print media. Darker shades like earthy red add character and depth, while light backgrounds bring a sense of lightness and readability. With those rules of contrast, we maintained professionalism and visual consistency across all formats.
The typographic pairing of ornate and clean fonts joins the spirit of times past with the clarity of the modern age. Together, the fonts support a visual identity that breathes tradition while being fully adapted to today's standards of communication.
Working on Jožekova hiža was an exploration of the balance between tradition and modernity, emotion and functionality — and the result is an identity that doesn't just visually communicate rustic and modern in one, but also the experience of the place — somewhere every visitor can feel the story and become part of it.
